Pianist | Music Educator | Collaborative Conductor
Born into the musical tradition of Gulangyu Island, Mr. Hsu holds Master's degrees from Harvard and Columbia, performance certificates from Juilliard and the New England Conservatory, and serves as an Educational Partner of Steinway & Sons.
From Gulangyu Island to New York City
Mr. LeDao (Amadeus) Hsu hails from the musical family tradition of Gulangyu Island — “The Musical Cradle” and a World Heritage piano island. He studied under renowned piano professors at the Central and Shanghai Conservatories of Music, and won first place in the Xiamen Youth Music Competition, where he was highly praised by music educator Mr. Yin Chengdian.
Mr. Hsu holds Master's degrees from both Harvard University and Columbia University, as well as certificates in piano performance from The Juilliard School and the New England Conservatory of Music. Michael Shinn, former head of the keyboard department at Juilliard, and his teaching team praised Mr. Hsu's playing as having “perfect technique full of love and nobility.”
As an Educational Partner and piano teacher of Steinway & Sons, Mr. Hsu founded the Amadeus Piano Studio, providing first-class piano and voice instruction for the Flushing Chinese community and contributing significantly to popularizing the classical music tradition in New York City.
Beyond music, Mr. Hsu is a retired Vice President of Wells Fargo, where he served for nearly 20 years across Corporate and Investment Banking, Commercial Banking and Asset Management. He is also the founder of the Tri-State Tennis Alliance and chairs the board of directors of the Colden Tower Owners Corporation, the largest co-op in Flushing.
