She has appeared as a guest soloist with the Berlin Philharmonic and serves as President of the Berlin Chapter of Europe's largest association of vocal educators.

About Dr. Chunqing Zhang

Dr. Chunqing Zhang is a Europe-based mezzo-soprano who graduated from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music before furthering her studies at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music Berlin, where she earned dual doctorates in vocal performance and vocal pedagogy. She has appeared as a guest soloist with the Berlin Philharmonic and has performed leading operatic roles in Turandot, Carmen, Tosca, The Magic Flute, and Così fan tutte.

An authority in vocal education, Dr. Zhang currently serves as President of the Berlin Chapter of Europe's largest association of vocal educators, and has been invited to teach and lead masterclasses at music conservatories around the world. She has particular expertise in coaching the interpretation of Chinese-language vocal repertoire, helping students combine Western bel canto technique with the phonetics and emotional expression of Mandarin song.

Her honors include the Grand Prize at the Bayreuth Wagner Opera Festival in Germany (the only Asian singer to receive this distinction), First Prize at the Paris European Bel Canto Singing Competition, the Grand Prize at Italy's Rocca delle Macie International Vocal Competition, First Prize in the Bel Canto category at the New York International Vocal Competition, the Best Performance Award at the Sydney Opera House's "Meet Australia" gala, and the Gold Medal at the Kaufman Music Center International Vocal Competition in the United States.

Who Should Attend

Vocal learners age 15–50, including students, teachers, choir members, and professionals. Private sessions were available for those seeking one-on-one coaching.

Masterclass Format

8–10 selected active participants received direct coaching from Dr. Zhang (15–20 minutes each). Auditors could observe full sessions and take part in the Q&A. Topics included vocal technique, aria interpretation, Chinese diction, and expression.

Private One-on-One Sessions

For those who preferred private coaching; 30-minute sessions at $150, available 10:00 AM–12:00 PM and 6:30–8:00 PM. Custom coaching topics included technique, repertoire preparation, and Chinese diction.
